I am excited to share with you that we are launching a new mini-course series by Mohsena, my PhD student.
The first lecture will be next Tuesday (9/16).
In each lecture, we will draw and write by hand ✍️ to explore advanced AI Agent topics.
The series will include:
MCP (9/16) 👈
A2A (9/23)
Agent Eval (9/30)
Agentic Web (TBD)
Agentic LLMs (TBD)
Thanks to Ali Abidi and Packt for sponsoring and hosting this lecture series.

Recap: AI-in-5 Intro to Gen AI Mini Course
The AI in 5 Mini Course on Intro to AI concluded yesterday and it went beyond expectations. We anticipated hundreds of signups but received 4734 registrations, 1800+ live attendees, and many thousands watching the recordings!
Credits go to Larissa who led the course, Caroline from our university (CU Boulder Engineering) who advised and supported us, and the amazing team at GenAI.works Academy, including Sam, Paola, and many others working behind the scenes.
The responses are overwhelmingly positive!
Most of the lower ratings were related to technical difficulties during the first session, when the sign-up system was overwhelmed by the unexpectedly high attendance.
I am grateful to those who pushed through the frustration to join, and equally grateful to those who shared their honest feelings with a low rating. Both help us improve.
I want to give a special shoutout to the GenAI.works team who worked feverishly in the background to resolve these issues.
What’s next? We will be busy reviewing people’s assignments (hundreds of submissions) and issuing certificates.
Background: Intro to Agentic AI Mini Course
Back to next week, why are we offering this new lecture series in collaboration with Packt?
Earlier this spring, I ran a mini course on Intro to Agentic AI. Many who completed it not only received a certificate signed by me but also asked when a follow-up would happen.
Packt reached out to me as they are working on a flagship education initiative around AI agents. They appreciate our unique approach of teaching by hand ✍️, focusing on principle-first experiences in contrast to the many code-first experiences that dominate the field. This alignment made it natural to collaborate on launching this new series.
I decided to give this task to Mohsena. Over the summer, she devoted herself to studying, preparing, and practicing while also caring for her one-year-old son.
Why Mohsena? Mohsena supported me in many ways, in my in-person computer vision graduate course, and also in many of my online lectures, serving as moderator and responding to questions in the chat. Now it is time for her to step into the foreground.
While many “AI agent” courses focus on coding, this one is about learning with your hands, building intuition step by step.
