Paper Club, A2A Lecture, Intro to AI Agents Course
Next week, we will host three free learning events, led by my PhD students Mohsena, Jubair, and Cornelius. They’ve been preparing all summer, and this is your chance to learn directly from them.
👉 Come learn with us and be part of a growing community working to teach AI by hand to one million people worldwide.
AI by Hand ✍️ Paper Club (Wednesday)
If you are an AI researcher or an advanced AI engineer who regularly read the latest AI papers, I’d like to invite you to join the next week’s paper club of my research group, led by Jubair, a senior PhD student of mine.
We will discuss a CVPR 2025 paper, in the AI by Hand ✍️ style!!
DFormerv2: Geometry Self-Attention for RGBD Semantic Segmentation
https://arxiv.org/abs/2504.04701
It is the first time we open our paper club to the general public.
What makes our Paper Club different from others? Most paper clubs focus on high-level intuition and leaderboard scores. We go inside the black box—into the math, the derivations, and the mechanics that actually make AI models work. Jubair will work through brand-new AI by Hand style exercises he crafted specifically for this new paper.

A2A by Hand ✍️ (Tuesday)
This is the second lecture of the Advanced AI Agents by Hand led by Mohsnea Ashraf, in partnership with Packt Publishing.
The first lecture this week (MCP by Hand ✍️) kicked off with an incredible start! 1200+ registered, 459+ attended live!
Here are some feedback from the attendees:
Very well done. Creative approach and very interactive with the participants. Thank you.
Very Helpful to understand what is MCP under the hood. Looking forward to the next set of sessions
The course was very technical and bring a amazing view of the MCP protocol and applications in real cases. Congratultions.

Intro to AI Agents - Nigeria Edition (Monday)
This special edition of our AI in 5 mini course is led by Cornelius Adejoro, my PhD student originally from Nigeria, who is passionate about making AI accessible and impactful across Africa.
He has already taught these topics at CU Boulder, and now he is bringing them back home to share with the Nigerian community.
In just five sessions, this mini-course will explore the foundations of modern AI agents — with no coding required.
