The "3 hours vs 5 seconds" comparison hits differently when you think about what actually stays with you. I can generate an explanation in seconds now but it doesn't stick the same way it does when I have to build it myself. The understanding just dissolves after a few days.
I see this same pattern in writing too, the depth takes time and there's no shortcut for that.
